2010 Golden Globe Predictions!

Okay everyone! So, as you hopefully know, the 67th Annual Golden Globe ceremony is this upcoming Sunday. With going back to school (and all the fun associated with that), I've decided to put out predictions early. These aren't my Oscar predictions, as those will come at a later date. And, my predictions for the Oscar may be swayed by what happens with the Golden Globe. So, I'll list the nominees in each category, and select MY winner in red (based on precursors and my own opinions). Of course, it's all speculation, and I know I won't be 100%. This is a little fun thing I am doing to see if I agree with the HFPA (Hollywood Foreign Press Association)! Here we go!

Best Motion Picture (Drama)
Avatar
The Hurt Locker
Inglorious Basterds
Precious: A movie based on the novel "Push" by Sapphire
Up in the Air

(though, I wouldn't be surprised if "Up in the Air" took it)

Best Motion Picture (Musical or Comedy)
(500) Days of Summer
The Hangover
It's Complicated
Julie & Julia
Nine

Best Actor in a Motion Picture (Drama)
Jeff Bridges, Crazy Heart
George Clooney, Up in the Air
Colin Firth, A Single Man (going out on a limb--most others say Bridges)
Morgan Freeman, Invictus
Tobey Maguire, Brothers

Best Actress in a Motion Picture (Drama)
Emily Blunt, The Young Victoria
Sandra Bullock, The Blind Side
Helen Mirren, The Last Station
Carey Mulligan, An Education
Gabourey Sidebe, Precious: Based on the Novel "Push" by Sapphire

Best Actor in A Motion Picture (Comedy or Musical)
Matt Damon, The Informant
Daniel Day-Lewis, Nine
Robert Downey, Jr., Sherlock Holmes
Joseph Gordon-Levitt, (500) Days of Summer
Michael Stuhlbarg, A Serious Man

Best Actress in a Motion Picture (Comedy or Musical)
Sandra Bullock, The Proposal
Marion Cotillard, Nine
Julia Roberts, Duplicity
Meryl Streep, It's Complicated
Meryl Streep, Julie & Julia

Meryl should win this one. Though, the HFPA/AMPAS always have a knack for flipping the coin on which role to nominate/award (such as Kate Winslet last year in Revolutionary Road and The Reader)

Best Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture
Matt Damon, Invictus
Woody Harrelson, A Single Man
Christopher Plummer, The Messenger
Stanley Tucci, The Lovely Bones
Cristoph Waltz, Inglorious Basterds

Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture
Penelope Cruz, Nine
Vera Farmiga, Up in the Air
Anna Kendrick, Up in the Air
Mo'Nique, Precious: Based on the Novel "Push" by Sapphire
Julianne Moore, A Single Man

Stay tuned for more :)
